Claris Vision Acquires Southcoast Eye Care Inc.
Boston, MA — October 23, 2013 — Candescent Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, announced that its portfolio company, Claris Vision, has acquired Southcoast Eye Care, a comprehensive vision health company located in North Dartmouth, MA. With the addition of Southcoast, Claris Vision now operates 13 offices throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Southcoast Eye Care was originally founded in 1990 by Dr. Joseph F. Burke. Dr. Burke teamed up with Dr. John E. Meehan in 2005 to expand the practice's expertise in medical and surgical glaucoma management. Dr. Burke and Dr. Meehan expressed excitement at partnering with Claris Vision, commenting, "We believe that this collaboration will offer our patients the highest level of comprehensive ophthalmic care in Southern New England.
